By myself

So I’ve always believed that everything ive gotten was through my own effort, my own ability, I got there by myself.

I did the hard work, I put in the hours and made it, by myself.

I put myself out there, I took the risks, I made the decision, by myself.

I gathered my will, I got off my bed, and I took the first step, by myself.

What I didnt realise is that I’m the product of so many people, my parents, my friends, my family. My school, my teachers, and so many other people I havent acknowledged. Yes, my effort was required, but it was no where near enough. I am a product of my environment, I am a product of others work, not just my own, I am a product of society, not just myself.
