Hi, I'm AbdulMuhmeen

I'm a first year Computer Science student @ Durham University with a passion for building things and a keen interest in software engineering and entrepreneurship.

At the moment I'm exploring new technologies and working on personal projects including amalworks, my software development company.

Current project: GbeWa a local food delivery app, with live location tracking, launching by the end of 2025.

My journey in tech began all the way back in year 4 when I got my first experience with programming through Kodu Game Labs. Fast forward to 2020 (end of year 9), I found out about CS50 and spent the next two summers diving deep into it and completing the course. This was my first real taste of CS and despite being really challenging, I found it incredibly rewarding.

This passion for building led me to my A-level EPQ, where I challenged myself to develop a web application from the ground up using Django and Python. This project was a fantastic learning experience, and the site received over 3,000 visits and 900 unique users.

Overtime I have gained experience developing full-stack applications using a range of technologies. For example, I built a fully featured delivery app (currently in development) with a Flutter/Dart frontend and a Django backend, along with a Next.js frontend for restaurant management. I also created an inventory and sales tracker for small businesses using Flutter.

Through these projects, I've gained hands-on experience with Docker, cloud computing, and even dabbled with LLM APIs. I'm always looking for new challenges and ways to expand my skills. My next step is to secure a software engineering internship for the summer of 2026 to apply my skills in a real-world environment. I haven't done anything amazing yet, but my skills are solid and I'm eager to learn more.
